We’re Steven and Andy, the Meyer-Sanchez duo. I’m an architect by training and a designer by obsession. Andy’s a nurse turned realtor with an eye for spaces that feel like home. Together, we blur the lines between work, life, and whatever this creative circus is that we’ve built.
We got engaged in Paris, because if you’re going to make a lifelong promise, you might as well do it under the twinkling lights of the Eiffel Tower, right? Fast forward 3 years to this past August, when we tied the knot in Sintra, Portugal, surrounded by 130 (!!!) family, friends, and the kind of perfect weather that makes you believe the universe occasionally gets it right. In true Steven and Andy fashion there was Kheira - the extremely talented drag queen (her vocals were out of this world!), Fergus - a magician who stole the show (truly: our guest's were chanting his name over and over) a few “statues” complete with floral headdresses who were very much alive, and the Sparkle Band who many later told us felt like a concert. It was romantic, surreal, and entirely us.
Casa Dos Penedos, Our Wedding Day - August 21, 2025
It felt magical, beyond anything we could have dreamed.
Because we apparently have a deep-seated need to overcommit, we bought a house immediately after getting engaged. For me, the 1926 Spanish home in Coral Gables, FL was a showstopper with the most amazing bones! For Andy... well, he wasn't totally sure what he was looking at. At first glance, anyone could tell we had our hands full. We learned a lot during our first renovation together at Casa Mariana (and probably invented a few new curse words in the process). We discovered how to mix our styles, navigate chaos, and actually find joy in the mess.
Now we're onto our next adventure, the Vero Beach House is officially underway.
Casa Mariana, Pre-construction - July 8, 2022
As you can imagine, in my industry, we don’t exactly get instant results. But i’ve always loved the idea of creating something with my own hands, resulting in immediate satisfaction. Projects can take a year or two before they even begin to look like what I’ve created in my head. So I’ve learned to find creative outlets that scratch that instant gratification itch, whether it’s designing, styling, writing, or just tearing into a weekend project with Andy.
By day, we’re designing, selling, styling, and sometimes debating whether “open concept” is still a thing. By night, we’re dreaming up new projects (probably too many), cooking up chaos, and reminding each other that laughter (and a strong cocktail) solves most creative blocks.
We started this blog because our life together is equal parts design, hustle, and humor, and it felt wrong not to share the stories behind it all. This space is for the gays and girls who get it, the ones chasing beauty, balance, and a good laugh in the middle of the mess.
At its core, this blog is our way to document our journey together; building a life, a house, and the occasional questionable idea. Staying motivated, mildly unhinged, and always in progress.
So welcome to our world! Pull up a chair (bonus points if it’s vintage).

Casa Mariana, Day of Closing
Bright-eyed with anticipation, and admittedly naive about what lay ahead.
